The Directors Leadership Academy (DLA) is a training series for child care program directors. This five-part training series provides leadership skills training and focuses on ways administrators can become more effective leaders — to meet the needs of the program, staff, families and children entrusted in their care.
Two levels of DLA are offered:
Become a Better Leader
Provides leadership skills training and focuses on ways to become a more effective leader to meet the needs of the program, the staff, and the families and children in their care.
Improve Your Administrative Skills
Designed for directors, administrators, those who are looking to gain administrative skills in the field of early childhood education.
Training Topics Include:
Communication, team building, ethics,leadership traits, behaviors/characteristics of working with adults, advocacy, mentoring, coping with change, budgeting, supporting families, employment practices, etc.
30 clock hours of approved professional development spread out over five sessions.
All programs participate in pre and post assessments using the Program Administrator Scale and will receive follow-up coaching.
