Developing Learners – Skills of School Success (Online)
Tuesday, March 15, from 6:30-8:30 pm (2.0 hours)
What is educational readiness? What is school readiness? Researchers have identified what is being called the “achievement gap” between what children are being taught and the must have skills of the world. As early childhood educators how do we know what do children need to learn first? Their ABCs? Their numbers? As it turns out, the "what" children need to learn, experience and develop before they enter school and then continue to build are those harder to measure – confidence, curiosity, problem solving, self-control and social-emotional skills are a few of these. Come explore how we develop young children’s skills for school and life success! (Trainer: Nancy Heathman, The Family Conservancy) Age Focus: PreK. Free training, sponsored by Educare.
