Overview
In 2008, The Family Conservancy embarked on a five-year effort to significantly expand its parenting services and establish The Family Conservancy as Greater Kansas City's first-stop for families raising children from birth through adolescence.

Our Opportunities
- Two out of three children under 6 and three out of four 6 to 17 live in a home with all parents working.
- A single parent is responsible for one out of four families.
- Poverty impacts one of nine overall and one of five children under age five.
- More than 30 substantiated child abuse and neglect cases occur weekly in greater Kansas City.
- Over half of pregnancies for women under 30 are single parents — the highest ever and still rising.
- In the KC urban core, one in three do not graduate becoming 3 ½ times more likely to be arrested,
- 8 times more likely to serve jail time, and costing society over $240,000 each over their lives.

Some of Our Accomplishments
- In 2009, we touched more than 67,000 families in greater Kansas City — approximately 12% of families with children.
- We respond to approximately 12 inquiries per hour looking for resources and parenting support.
- Our Family Asset Building program has enabled more than 485 families to buy their first home,
- complete degrees or start a business.
- Since 1997, Quality Initiatives has served to increase the number of accredited child care providers more than 1,000%. In 2008, over 13,000 children received care from accredited service providers.
- Our Early Head Start and Head Start programs serve 625 children.
- Our Child & Adult Care Food Program ensures healthy lunches for over 2,600 kids each day through their child care provider.
- Our offices provide counseling for over 3,200 individuals with over 80% meeting or exceeding
- treatment goals.

- Council on Accreditation — Accredited Human Services operation continuously since 1982
- Charity Navigator — Four-star agency for fiscal and financial operations in 2008 and 2009
