- Read books about new babies, visit friends with new babies
- Let your child help prepare the baby’s new room
- Sign up for sibling classes
- If you’re expecting major changes (new house), complete them before birth
After Birth - Don’t worry if you see some regression
- Do not make major changes, like potty training, new child care, new house
- Spend focused, one-on-one time with each child
- Let them participate in caring for the new baby
- Give them a special space that is only for them, no babies allowed
