Worried about your child’s reaction to a new sibling?  The Fox 4 parenting expert gives some ideas on how to introduce the newest family member to your children. 

Before Birth

• Be honest, explain changes that may affect your child
• Read books about new babies, visit friends with new babies
• Let your child help prepare the baby’s new room
• Sign up for sibling classes
• If you’re expecting major changes (new house), complete them before birth

After Birth

• Don’t worry if you see some regression
• Do not make major changes, like potty training, new child care, new house
• Spend focused, one-on-one time with each child
• Let them participate in caring for the new baby
• Give them a special space that is only for them, no babies allowed
