On April 16, our Professional Development Program Manager Coco McAtee appeared on Fox 4's morning news show to
discuss what results of a recent study on child care might mean for your
child's development. Click here to visit Fox 4 News.
A recent study claims there is a link between the amount of
time a child spends in child care and future behavior problems. That may be a
scary thought for parents, many of whom rely on child care so that they can
work outside the home. Here's some information to help you determine what it
might mean for your child's development.
Recent Study Findings
- Children who attended quality child care had more developed
math and vocabulary skills
- Time spent in child care correlates to a slight increase in
problem behaviors in 6th grade
Summary of study conducted by the National Institute of Child
Health and Human Development.
