Part-Time Clinical Practitioner
Summary of Position
On a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week, provides direct social work services, to consumers with supervision commensurate with social worker’s skills and abilities. This position requires licensures with an intermediate knowledge base.
Essential Job Results
Helps maintain effective program functioning by meeting with supervisor a minimum of once monthly unless supervisor sets a more frequent schedule.
Maintains a consistent level of work production; Part-time Clinicians will bill a minimum of three hours per week.
Assists individuals, groups and families through the counseling relationship, using a combination of clinical mental health and human development principles, methods, diagnostic procedures, treatment plans, and other psychotherapeutic techniques, to develop an understanding of personal problems, to define goals, and to plan action reflecting the client's interests, abilities, aptitudes and mental health needs. May administer and interpret assessment and outcome tools throughout the diagnostic and treatment process and provide guidance to individuals or groups.
Prepares accurate, timely work documentation including completing consumer assessments within two sessions or three weeks of first meeting, documenting each session with a progress note completed at time of session, case closing will occur within 30 days of last contact, EAP or managed care forms will be completed and made available to office Program Office Assistant within ten days of work stage completion, therapist logs will be completed each time contract staff person is on site for consumer contact.
Contributes to the program’s effectiveness by responding same day to requests for information relative to case assignment or agency function.
Responsible for sustaining and follow up contact with assigned consumers, ensuring continuum of quality consumer service.
Meets scheduled appointments prepared and on time.
Contributes to the organization’s effectiveness by identifying short-term and long range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.
As assigned, provides one-on-one therapeutic and behavioral support to children in Head Start and other programs. Works with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individual treatment and service plans for children with mental health and disability needs. Consults regularly with parents and staff on the progress of children’s mental health and disability services, participates in outcome measurement processes. Maintains applicable documentation and records per COA, The Family Conservancy and Head Start Performance standards.
Accepts and responds to 24-hour emergency on-call rotation.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Graduation from an accredited school of Social Work with a Master’s degree or education equivalent to a Master’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university. Appropriate state clinical licensure in Missouri or Kansas (LCSW or LSCSW) required. Prior experience in Early Childhood and Childhood Mental Health required.

Speak, read, write and hear English to communicate with consumers, agency personnel and community contacts. Find appropriate interpreters for consumers when needed.
Develop rapport with consumers, collateral’s and community contacts.
Develop and carry out treatment plans with consumers individually, with couples and families, and with groups.
Develop and facilitate/present informational programs and seminars in the community as needed.
Comply with direct service hour expectation.
Collaborate with a diverse group of staff; serve as a positive role model.
Travel to all parts of the facility and throughout the community.
Prepare hand written and typed reports, perform basic business statistical calculations and draw correct inferences from data.

Bilingual fluency in written and oral English/Spanish preferred.
