• 13 percent are growing up in poverty
• 16,000 to 18,000 cases of child abuse and neglect are reported yearly across all economic levels
• At-risk children are less likely to be prepared for kindergarten
• The further a child lags behind in kindergarten, the harder it is to catch up later on

Studies show that an early investment in children's lives can counteract these influences and create positive outcomes. So we've worked hard to find solutions that work.

Delivering parenting and early education solutions
The Family Conservancy helps families and early educators prepare children to enjoy lifelong success by:

• Offering parenting resources and education on caring, effective parenting techniques to encourage a child's healthy development and well-being
• Providing access to quality early learning programs through child care referrals, our Head Start partnership sites and quality improvement initiatives
• Helping improve the quality of area early education by providing professional development opportunities, coaching and technical assistance, plus grant opportunities to help programs work toward accreditation or participation in the Quality Rating System

Supporting families in crisis
The Family Conservancy promotes a healthy home life for families by:

• Delivering counseling services to promote a home that's free from violence, drugs, depression or relationship conflicts
• Helping children break through, so they can learn, listen and play well within a child care setting

Helping families overcome poverty
The Family Conservancy helps families provide a promising future for their children by:

• Providing matched savings and financial education for low-income, working families to buy a first home, attend college or start a new business. We also help secure auto loans to keep families on the job or in school
