If you feel that disciplining your child after mischief occurs isn't working, tune in to the Fox 4 parenting expert on Tuesday morning to learn how rewarding good behavior can go a long way.
Child rewards
- Work best for children age 2 and older
- Can take up to 2 months to work
- Compile a list of rewards, post to fridge
- You can buy or make reward charts
- Be consistent
Examples of good rewards
- An extra bedtime story/postponing bedtime
- A parent-child date to a movie/museum/etc.
- A favorite snack / baking something together
- A family board game
- Play date / sleepover
- Earning points toward a game or toy
