With spring in the air, it's a perfect time of year to think about how to get your children involved with the green movement -- when they can see nature changing. Tune in to the Fox 4 parenting expert for age-appropriate tips on involving your child in going green.
Get your child emotionally involved in going green
- Give opportunities to enjoy nature
- Make recycling a game
- Assign a daily chore
- Do a park clean-up together each year
Teach your child to:
- Keep water flow to a pencil-thin stream in the sink
- Turn off the lights when leaving a room
- Recycle newspapers, magazines and junk mail
- Use reusable food containers
- Not open the fridge door open for too long
- Plant and nurture something (tree, vegetable or flower)
