You can’t prevent your child from having nightmares, but you can help lessen how often they happen and help your child deal with them. Join us Tuesday morning to hear how you can help your child relax before bedtime and scare away monsters under the bed.

Help your child relax before bedtime

  • Have a sleep routine that helps him slow down
  • Have a cozy, peaceful place to sleep
  • Avoid scary, violent TV shows and movies before bed
  • Do magic: sprinkle anti-monster dust, check under beds

When they have a nightmare

  • Reassure your child that you are there
  • Label what has happened
  • Offer comfort and reassurance
  • Help your child go back to sleep
  • Be a good listener
